The humble cauliflower “always the bridesmaid….never the bride!” Cauliflower tends to sit in the shadows behind its more popular cousin broccoli.
We wanted to introduce a vegetable into our product range that was versatile for retail, food service and quick service restaurants. The product was to fit in different areas of the marketplace whether it be a menu starter, the perfect side, or an amazing addition to a sharing platter; and it would suit both the vegetarian and vegan palate.
Cauliflower has great versatility; it’s capable of carrying huge flavours while maintaining an al dente bite and texture. Wrapped in a crispy flavourful tempura batter, it’s a winner!
The NPD Team evaluated flavour trends within the market before developing a variety of recipes with flavours like Hot and Spicy, Katsu Curry, Bang Bang, Piri Piri and Buffalo Style. We settled on both Piri Piri and Salt and White Pepper, which have proven themselves in the market.
